Challenge — Differentiation. Create three distinct covers that are all on brand. Consistent with the last printing, but not the same.
Opportunity — Keep it fresh. Every time a new batch of these was reordered I refreshed the designs incrementally.
Solutions — New spot illustrations, new color touches, new fonts, new identity lock-ups for supplemental DVDs.
B: Ad-hoc Branding — 2012-2015
Challenge — Speed and scale. Create original, branded, packaging for multiples series containing multiple titles each.
Opportunity — Licensing relationships. Successfully branding video content made it easier to secure more agreements.
Solution — Systems. Each series got an adaptable plug and play layout that could easily incorporate new titles.
